Our legal team manages the entire lifecycle of trading contracts, from drafting and negotiation to execution and risk mitigation.
Responsibilities of the role
- Drafting sales contracts and amendments for purchase/sale operations involving crude, products, biofuels, and other energy commodities, ensuring alignment with the strategic goals of Moeve Trading and its subsidiaries.
- Conducting comprehensive analyses of tenders, contractual frameworks and general terms and conditions, identifying potential risks that could impact operations.
- Reviewing purchase contracts issued by counterparties to verify compliance with agreed commercial terms and mitigate potential risks.
- Negotiating contract amendments, ensuring they align with company policies and effectively manage potential economic or reputational risks.
- Providing legal and technical support to other areas (including Operations, Finance, Credit, and Back Office), assisting with the interpretation of contractual clauses .
- Keeping informed of national and international regulations relevant to operations to ensure contracts adhere to legal and regulatory standards.
- Maintaining communication with all business stakeholders (including counterparties, front office, operations and legal teams) to ensure accurate and timely flow of information for each operation.
- Collaborating in the development and implementation of digital systems (including document management systems and knowledge databases) to optimize contract management processes.
What We’re Looking For
- A degree in law, or demonstrable equivalent experience in international contract management.
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in international trading contracts, ideally within the crude, products, and biofuels sector.
- Proficient in English (written and spoken); additional languages are an asset.
- Understanding of maritime logistics, including vessels, ports, and related legal frameworks.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to manage multiple complex transactions simultaneously.
- Excellent communication skills, with a proven ability to work effectively across multicultural teams and departments.
- Experience with digital contract management systems and knowledge databases is a plus.
