About the Role

As the Corporate Risk and Business Continuity Intern, you will support the team in maintaining effective risk management frameworks and business continuity plans. Your work will assist the organization's ability to anticipate potential risks, minimize vulnerabilities, and recover swiftly from incidents. You will collaborate across multiple departments to learn how we embed a culture of risk awareness and preparedness, ensuring that Beca is well-positioned to sustain its commitments to clients and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in conducting risk assessments across business units to help identify potential threats and vulnerabilities.

  • Support the update, maintenance, and testing of business continuity plans to ensure readiness for diverse scenarios (e.g., technology failures, operational disruptions).

  • Help monitor risk indicators and assist in documenting mitigation actions in alignment with corporate policies and compliance requirements.

  • Collaborate with operational teams to learn how risk management and continuity practices are integrated into daily business activities.

  • Assist in coordinating training sessions and awareness programs to enhance organizational understanding of risk and continuity processes.

  • Help prepare detailed reports, data summaries, and presentations for senior management highlighting risks and impact analyses.

  • Support the team in gathering documentation required for external partners, regulators, and auditors to ensure conformity with industry standards.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Risk Management, Finance, or a related discipline.

  • Strong interest or academic foundation in corporate risk management, business continuity, or compliance (prior coursework or university projects are highly valued).

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with great attention to detail.

  • Good communication skills, capable of clearly organizing information and collaborating with diverse teams.

  • Familiarity with basic risk concepts, regulatory frameworks, or compliance standards through your studies.

  • Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams and manage multiple academic or professional tasks effectively.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel and PowerPoint); eagerness to learn specialized risk management software.
